Carpentry Training Program

Do you want to enter Boston’s growing construction industry?

Our free Carpentry training will assist you in building the skills and knowledge necessary to start your career. Our curriculum is aligned with the Carpentry Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) framework and will place you on the right path for you to seize an opportunity in this growing industry. Upon successful completion of our program, you can connect with many career opportunities including as an Apprentice, with career ladders to Junior Carpenter, Construction Management, and more!

Program Overview

  • Training lasts 4 months and is part time (average of up to 15 instruction hours a week). Program schedule includes evening instruction on weekdays Tuesday and Thursday and every other Saturday.
  • Classes:
    • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 4-8 pm
    • Every other Saturday: 9 am-3 pm

Please note: This is an in-person training which occurs at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School (near Roxbury Crossing MBTA station).

Program Eligibility

  • Ages 18+
  • Fluent or Strong English skills
  • Must have a desire to work in the carpentry industry
  • Must be able to kneel (with knee pads) for up to 8 hours 
  • Be able to work on a team and have good customer service skills
  • Eager to seek growth opportunities and have a strong work ethic
