Digital Literacy Initiative (DigLit)
The City of Boston’s Digital Literacy Initiative (DigLit), a collaboration between the Office of Workforce Development and World Education, equips adult basic education and job‑training programs with the digital skills their participants need to thrive in today’s workforce. Initially piloted through the Adult Literacy Initiative—serving over 3,000 residents across 25 programs—the initiative provided coaching, technical assistance, and financial support to assess and enhance digital learning. Backed by federal ARPA funding and an additional $1 million secured in 2023 through Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s Community Project Funding, DigLit supports tools like the EdTech Strategy Routine Library, a Needs Assessment, and Action Plan Tool, and continues to expand via DigLit 2.0 to further build capacity in workforce training providers across Boston.
